Gestroi at first glance look similar to some other species of isopods such as the Armadillidium kluugi, but get much larger, and more active, then their cousins! This makes the gestroi one of our favorite isopods to keep and enjoy. These isopods are native to France and Italy and are said to be found in areas with ample sandstone and limestone. We offer cuttlebone to our gestroi for this reason. In the terrarium they will spend much of their time clinging to the underside of cork bark and leaves.
